Originally named after the Kwinana Flame, The Rockingham Flames made their debut in the National Basketball League (NBL1) in 1992 in the form of a women’d team, becoming the first club to introduce a women’s program before a men’s program.

In 1994, a Rockingham Flames men’s team entered the NBL1.

There are 14 teams in total which make up the State Basketball League, including teams from as far north as Geraldton, as far south as Bunbury and also Kalgoorlie.

The Flames play their home games at Mike Barnett Sports Complex in Rockingham, which in the 2019 NBL1 season saw us set the record for the average crowd attendance of just over 1200 people. 2019 also saw ex Perth Wildcats Greg hire and Brad Robbins join the men’s team, along with American Imports and local Rockingham and Kwinana elite players for both the Men’s and Women’s teams.

We look forward to your support in 2020.
