Aiesha Dizon Off To Manila
Harcourts Rockingham WABL Player Spotlight - Aiesha Dizon
Aiesha is one Rockingham's promising women's players and has enjoyed a highly successful junior career which started by chance back in 2015 when she filled in for her brother's team who needed an extra player.
The very next year she donned the Flames uniform for the first time when she competed at State Champs. A year later and her WABL career commenced as a bottom age U12 player. As a top age U12 Aiesha won a WABL All Star award and in 2019 made her first SCC team before making SPP in 2022, all the while collecting a bag of trophies and awards.
Her success continued through the age groups with a stint at Mandurah before returning to the Flames in 2023 where she has been playing U18s and D League. Her hard work was rewarded in 2024 with an NBL1 contract as part of this season's highly successful squad.
Outside of WABL & NBL1 Aiesha went to Dandenong with CJ Jackson's Skyplay Academy and attended Aussie Prospects tournaments in 2022 & 2023 where she met now close friend Pania Davis.
In an exciting recent development, Aiesha has accepted an offer to explore her Filipino culture and spend time with family by accepting a place at De La Salle University in Manila. After spending a month training with the team she was offered a full scholarship and committed to the prestigious school in March this year.
Aiesha is expected to head to the Philippines in January so you'll still have plenty of time to see her around the Flames before she leaves.
Outside of basketball Aiesha enjoys art and loves to paint as well as going out and having a social life outside of basketball. Aiesha believes this balance has allowed her to successfully juggle school and basketball nearly every day of the week.
The Rockingham Flames look forward to seeing Aiesha continue her basketball journey.
