Ignite – Girls
2020 will see the revamped Flames Ignite Program fall under the NBL1 banner. The program will aim to create a stronger link between Rockingham female WABL athletes and the senior WSBL program. Athletes will be provided with an exclusive pathway and dedicated training in an effort to create an easier transition for Rockingham’s elite female athletes into semi-professional basketball.
Athletes accepted into the ignite program will be granted access to WSBL preseason with the ability to train or watch- at the discretion of the NBL1 coaching staff. In 2020 Ignite athletes will receive a dedicated group session fortnightly during the WSBL/WABL season. This program will include individual interviews and goal setting, video sessions and feedback, small group training and an exclusive opportunity to attend Monday night WSBL practices.
The sessions will place a high emphasis on individual skill work, looking to improve the multi-skilled ability of athletes. Small sided games and concept training will prepare athletes for success in school, state and representative team settings.
Ignite sessions will be conducted by WSBL head coach Keegan Crawford with assistance from other WSBL and Division 1 assistants and a rotating roster of WSBL senior players.
