The time has finally arrived for registrations to open for the Rockingham Basketball and Recreation Association’s 2020 Winter Season.

The RBRA 2020 Winter Season will look a little different due to COVID-19 and all the associated changes that have been put in place with regards to this.

Because we are only allowed to return to basketball this week, and with the restrictions placed around this, RBRA has decided to run a shortened Winter Season to allow everyone to get back to basketball while still adhering to the new rules and regulations.

The 2020 Winter Season will start the week of the July 20. The season will run over 9 weeks, with the top two teams playing in a grand final in week 10 (there will be no semi-finals). Players will need to have played 5 games to qualify for the grand final.

Please note due to COVID-19 and the restrictions in place with number of people allowed in the stadium, spectators MAY be limited this season, we will continue to update you as we receive advise from associated bodies.

We ask that you all please be patient as these changes are new to us all and we will be doing our best to ensure the safety of all our members and staff.

There will be no grading this season, so please ensure your team is registered in the correct grade as changes are unlikely to be made.

Please note the ages for each Division:

U8s – born 2013/2014
U10s – born 2011/2012
U12s – born 2009/2010
U14s – born 2007/2008
U16s – born 2005/2006
U18s – born 2003/2004

Junior teams will receive trophies/medals (including U8s/U10s) as per normal for grand finals, while the winner of the Senior Grand Finals will receive a $100 voucher towards Summer Season registration.

There will be no All-star awards this season, but there will be a Grand Final MVP.

Winter 2020 Fees

Because of the shortened season, fees are as follows:
– Individual membership payments are as normal, $50 per player to be paid upon registration (please note some members may need to renew their BWA membership of $30)
– Team Fees of $750 per team (Senior and Junior) to be made in two payments ($250 when registering and $500 by August 9. Teams will not take the court the following week if payment has not been made)



Kidsport will be extending all voucher expiry dates on previously approved vouchers until June 30. The 90-day expiry will still be in place for any future voucher approvals. Anyone wanting to use Kidsport must let their team manager know and must also forward the code to [email protected].

Any team using Kidsport vouchers must contact the bookkeeper prior to making the second payment.

Senior Bonds

Senior bonds will still be $200 per team, with $100 being forfeited each time an individual is ejected or found guilty at tribunal. Once your bond has been forfeited another will need to be paid before your team can retake the court again.
